Tournament Overview:

  • Tournament Name: Kaya Cup U-16 Inter School Futsal Tournament
  •  Dates: 17th to 22nd Mangsir 2081 (December 2 to December 7, 2024)
  •  Format: League and Knockout stages
  • Teams: 7-a side squad with a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 12 players per team
  • Location: Chaur Recreational Center, Bansbari, Kathmandu
  • Entry Fee: NPR 15,000
  • Event Inclusions:
    • Media Coverage: Full media coverage of the tournament, capturing all the events.
    • Live Stream: Live coverage of the tournament matches will be available
    • Team Photo/ Video: Professional team photos and videos.
    • Tie Sheet Draw: Tie-sheet draw and trophy reveal (lunch included for team officials)
    • Closing Ceremony & Gala Dinner: Grand closing ceremony with all the participating teams, sponsors and VIP Invitees.
    • CSR Commitment: Kaya Sports will commit the profits generated from the tournament to support New Diamond Youth Sports Club. 

Rules and Regulations

  1. Team and Player Eligibility
  •  During a match, each team must consist of 7 players on the field (6 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper).
  • Teams can have a maximum of 12 players in the squad, including substitutes.
  • All players must be under 16 (born on or after January 1st, 2008) and must provide the required documents:
    • Student’s EMIS number
    • Birth Certificate
    • Year-end marksheet of past two years (2079,2080)
    • First term marksheet 2081
    • Digital Photo in School Dress
    • Identity Card
  • A player can only represent one team throughout the tournament.
  1. Match Duration and Format
  • During the league stage, each half will be 7.5 minutes, total game time will be 15 minutes with a 5-minute halftime break.
  • From round of 16 each half will be of 10 minutes, total game time 20 minutes including 5 minutes break, if the score is tied at the end of regular time, the match will proceed directly to penalty shootouts (5 penalties per team, and sudden death if the result is not determined).
  1. Tournament Format
  • League Stage: Teams will be divided into groups. Each team will play against every other team in their group.
  • Points System: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. In case of tie in the group table, the ranking will be based on goal difference, goal scored, then head-to-head in this order.
  • Knockout Stage: The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout rounds. Knockout matches will determine the finalists and the champion.
  1. Player Substitutions
  • Substitutions are unlimited but must be made during a stoppage in play and with the referee’s approval.
  • Substituted players may re-enter the match.
  1. Match Rules
  • The standard futsal rules apply, with modifications suitable for a 7-a side game.
  • The offside rule does not apply in futsal.
  • The goalkeeper cannot handle the ball outside the penalty area.
  1. Fouls and Misconduct
  • Yellow cards will result in a warning and a second yellow card will turn into a red card.
  • A red card will result in an immediate ejection from the match, and the player is suspended for the next game. The team plays with one fewer player for the remainder of the match.
  • Repeated fouls will result in a direct free kick or penalty kick if the foul occurs inside the penalty area.
  1. Equipment
  • All players must wear appropriate futsal footwear, jerseys, shorts, shin guards, and socks.
  • Goalkeepers must wear a jersey color that distinguishesthem from outfield players and referees.
  1. Match Timing and Forfeits
  • Teams must arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • A team failing to show up within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time will forfeit the match, and the opposing team will be awarded a 3-0 win.
  1. Referees and Decisions
  • All matches will be officiated by qualified referees whose decisions are final.
  • Any form of disrespect towards referees, opponents, or officials will result in disciplinary actions.
  1. Disputes and Protests
  • Any disputes or protests must be submitted in writing to the organizing committee within 30 minutes of the match’s conclusion.
  • Protest fee: NPR, 5000.
  • The organizing committee’s decision will be final and binding.
  • In case of any misconduct or breach of rules and regulations by the teams, teams will be fined NPR, 25000 and will be banned for the next edition of Kaya Cup.
  1. Code of Conduct
  • All participants, including players, coaches, and supporters, are expected to display sportsmanship and respect.
  • Any form of violence, abuse, or misconduct will result in immediate expulsion from the tournament.
  1. Health and Safety
  • Players are advised to warm up properly before the match and stay hydrated.
  • In case of injury, medical assistance will be available on-site.
