About Volleyball Court
A volleyball court is a carefully designed space that adheres to precise dimensions and standards to ensure a consistent and fair playing experience. The court measures 18 meters in length and 9 meters in width, divided into two equal halves by a net. This net stands 2.43 meters high for men’s competitions and 2.24 meters for women’s, with antennae marking the sidelines. Key markings on the court include the attack line, which is 3 meters from the net and distinguishes the front row from the back row players. The court is surrounded by a free zone at least 3 meters wide, providing extra space for players to maneuver.
Types of Volletball Courts
Volleyball courts can vary based on the level of play and the specific requirements of the venue. The most common types are:- Indoor Courts: Typically found in schools, colleges, and professional arenas. Typically made of wood or synthetic materials, providing a smooth and shock-absorbent playing area.
- Outdoor Courts: Found in parks, playgrounds, and recreational areas. These courts are often composed of sand (for beach volleyball) or synthetic turf.
Construction Process of Volleyball Court
Planning and Design
Begin with a detailed site assessment and create comprehensive plans, including pitch dimensions, orientation, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Site Preparation
Clear the site of vegetation and debris, excavate to the required depth, and grade and level the area. Install a stable sub-base layer and a comprehensive drainage system.
Surface Installation
Depending on the surface choice, lay natural grass, artificial turf, or hybrid grass are used. For artificial turf, add infill materials for cushioning and stability.
Finishing
Install essential infrastructure like goalposts, lighting, line markings and conduct a thorough inspection. Establish an ongoing maintenance plan to ensure the longevity.
